The Approach

Your visual translator.

Articulating what inspires you can be tricky. Susan believes a great designer’s job is to work as your visual translator: listening first, then shaping what you love into rooms that work for the way you live.

Whatever your design goals, the studio is here to help. From selecting the perfect paint, floor planning or furnishing selections to more advanced renovations, S+S brings the tools, talent and resources to make it happen.

The Small Moments
“I believe great design is a combination of large scale planning and visual alignment, but the development of smaller, thoughtful ‘moments’ are ultimately responsible for creating the character of the space.” Susan Jenkins
Client Reviews

“Susan Jenkins is absolutely amazing! She has such a skilled eye that shows talent, knowledge and passion for her craft. She knew exactly what I wanted in design and I am thrilled with the outcome.”

Shannon McGarrity

“Susan made our update and remodel a pleasurable experience and not the painstaking chore we were anticipating. Adhering to our budget, she gave us excellent guidance on where to splurge and where to save.”

Behind the Design

Susan Jenkins, Lead Designer, ASID

Susan began her career in interior design more than 15 years ago. In San Diego she worked for the firm Interspec, on a team designing high-end coastal residential homes throughout Southern California, before her family’s journey brought her craft east to Tennessee.

Much of her inspiration comes from the master-planned communities she has lived alongside: Santaluz in San Diego, The Peninsula Club at Lake Norman, Silverleaf in Scottsdale, and now The Grove in College Grove. Her personal style reflects that “East meets West” journey.

Dream BIG Bedrooms

Design that gives back.

Susan created Dream BIG Bedrooms for HopeKids, whose Middle Tennessee chapter supports over 1,000 local families with children facing life threatening illnesses. The goal: spaces that make joy, hope and healing a reality for kids who spend so much of their recovery at home.

A portion of proceeds from S+S client projects goes to making these rooms happen.
